DMC 102 to Madeira: Thread Conversion

Madeira 1005 is a close solid match to the midtone of DMC 102's royal blue range. Madeira's characteristic sheen can add a gemstone-like quality to this deep blue, which actually works nicely for stained glass and water reflections — two of the best uses for DMC 102. That said, the lack of variegation means you're substituting color for texture. If you use two strands of Madeira 1005 and want to add some movement, consider blending one strand with a slightly lighter Madeira blue.
