Cosmo 2646 is a close match in the gray-brown variegated space. Cosmo threads tend to have a softer hand and slightly different twist than DMC, which affects how the color transitions distribute across stitches — you may notice the color shifts appear slightly denser or more frequent than DMC's gradual drift. The softer construction means stitches lie a bit flatter, which can subtly affect how the gray and brown tones mix visually within each cross. For organic textures like stone walls, aged wood, or salt-and-pepper animal fur, this difference is usually undetectable at normal viewing distance where the overall impression matters more than individual stitch character. Try a small sample on your chosen fabric in your working light and compare the overall impression before proceeding to a large fill area. The warm taupe-to-stone range should be preserved in the Cosmo version.
