Where This Saturated Purple-Pink Earns Its Place

Managing a High-Saturation Thread

Very saturated threads require some extra care in dye lot consistency — highly pigmented colors show lot-to-lot variation more visibly than neutral or pale threads. If you're stitching a large area in DMC 3607, buy enough for the full project from the same lot. The thread is also one where pre-washing to test colorfastness is sensible if the finished piece will be washed, since deeply dyed threads in the magenta-red range can occasionally be less stable than their label suggests. DMC's quality control is good, but this particular color family is one where the extra step of a colorfastness test gives peace of mind.
