Cosmo 163 is a close match for DMC 844. At this very dark value, the practical difference between brands is often modest in finished work — the depth of pigment helps mask minor undertone variation. However, the specific warm quality of DMC 844 is what distinguishes it from cooler dark grays, and Cosmo 163's rendering of that warmth may differ slightly.
