DMC 838 to Cosmo: Thread Conversion

Cosmo 2529 is a close match for DMC 838. At this very dark value, the close rating has less practical impact than it would in a lighter color — the high pigment density reduces the visibility of minor undertone differences. The main distinction with Cosmo is thread texture: their silkier finish may affect how light interacts with the stitched dark-brown surface. For animal fur and wood texture designs where 838 functions primarily as the deepest shadow, Cosmo 2529 is a workable substitute that reads as very dark warm brown in finished work.
