DMC 3980 to Madeira: Thread Conversion

Madeira 2004 is a close match for DMC 3980 Very Dark Brown. With Madeira at this dark value, the slightly different twist and sheen can actually help make the brown undertone more or less visible depending on how light hits the stitched surface. Stitch a small test swatch on your project fabric rather than just comparing skeins side by side — the way the thread behaves when actually stitched tells you more about the warm-undertone quality than the raw skein comparison.
