Cosmo 166 is a close match for DMC 3840 that reads as slightly more vivid and saturated than the DMC equivalent — Cosmo's characteristic brightness profile applied to this light blue-violet value. For standalone projects and contemporary designs where a slightly more assertive lavender blue highlight is welcome, Cosmo 166 works well. Mixing Cosmo 166 directly alongside DMC 3840 in the same stitched area will reveal the saturation difference, so consistency within the full gradient family is the best approach when using Cosmo.
