Sullivans 45328 covers the dark olive-green territory reasonably well, though as with other close-rated equivalents, the specific warm yellow-olive character that distinguishes DMC 281 from simply a dark green may vary. Sullivans thread has a different construction from DMC that can affect how consistently the color reads across a large fill area. For projects where DMC 281 is part of the complete 280/281/282 olive gradient, maintaining one brand throughout the family gives the best gradient results.
