DMC 3854 to Madeira: Thread Conversion

Madeira 0204 is a close match for DMC 3854 Medium Autumn Gold. Madeira's medium autumn gold reads as very slightly more yellow and less orange compared to 3854's distinctly warm character — the cooler side of warm-gold rather than the orange-warm side. In practice the difference is minor enough that most stitchers would not notice in a finished piece at viewing distance, but mixing Madeira 0204 with DMC 3854 in adjacent stitched areas is not recommended as the slight hue shift would be visible where the threads meet. For projects sourced entirely from Madeira, 0204 is a reliable and consistent choice for the medium autumn gold position in harvest, sunflower, and Celtic accent palettes.
