Anchor 1003 is a close match for DMC 3853 Dark Autumn Gold. Anchor's dark autumn gold range tends to be slightly more orange and slightly less warm-gold than 3853 — where the DMC version sits in that precise harvest-gold zone between marigold and amber, the Anchor version edges a touch more orange. The difference is noticeable in direct comparison but manageable in standalone Anchor projects where all the palette colors are sourced consistently from Anchor. If combining Anchor 1003 with other DMC autumn gold shades in the same piece — particularly adjacent in a gradient — the hue mismatch may be visible at transition points.
