DMC 3830 to Anchor: Thread Conversion

Anchor 5975 is a close match for DMC 3830 Terra Cotta and is the most commonly used substitute in this color range. The Anchor version can sit fractionally more red and slightly less earthy-brown than the DMC — a touch more vivid-red, slightly less fired-clay. In folk art, Mexican embroidery-inspired designs, and floral garden pot contexts where a marginally more vivid terra cotta is acceptable, Anchor 5975 can actually read quite well. For architectural and archaeological design contexts where the earthy quality is the point, a swatch comparison under daylight is worthwhile.
