DMC 336 to Cosmo: Thread Conversion

Cosmo 171 is a close match for DMC 336. Dark blues are one category where brand differences tend to be more visible than in lighter colors — deep, saturated blues reveal even small hue differences clearly when threads are placed adjacent on fabric. If mixing Cosmo 171 with other blues in a gradient design, checking all threads together under natural daylight before committing to the project is the most reliable approach. For standalone navy applications where DMC 336 appears without other blues nearby, the close match is generally adequate.
