Sullivans 45425 approximates the pale violet-white character of DMC 27, though like the other brand equivalents, it earns only a close rating rather than exact. At this extremely light end of the purple spectrum, any manufacturing variation becomes more perceptible than it would be in a mid-value thread. Sullivans thread can sometimes run slightly thinner than DMC, which may affect coverage on larger-count fabrics — this is worth testing before using it in a broad fill area. For accent and highlight uses where DMC 27 appears sparingly, Sullivans 45425 is a practical alternative.
