Cosmo 2587 is a close match in the antique mauve family with Cosmo's softer hand and characteristic flatter stitch texture. The greyed, desaturated mauve quality that gives DMC 113 its antique character should be present — verify it reads as authentically muted rather than a simply pale pink. The slightly tighter twist in some Cosmo variegated threads can produce color transitions over shorter intervals, meaning the shifts between lighter and deeper antique mauve values may appear more frequently in a given stitch area than DMC 113's gentle, unhurried drift. For background fills in reproduction samplers where an overall aged, evenly textured surface is the goal rather than dramatic or visible color movement, this more active transition pattern is usually entirely undetectable at normal viewing distance. The overall impression of aged, greyed mauve reads correctly regardless of the more frequent shifting underneath.
