DMC 834 to Cosmo: Thread Conversion

Cosmo 586 is a close match for DMC 834 Very Light Golden Olive. At this pale highlight value, Cosmo's silkier thread finish can actually work in the substitute's favor — the extra luminosity of a silkier surface at very pale values can enhance the impression of light catching a surface, which is precisely what 834 is typically doing in a gold gradient. For ornament highlights and candle-glow effects, Cosmo 586 may produce a pleasingly luminous result. For parchment and straw textures where a matte pale gold is more appropriate, testing first is advisable.
