Anchor 100 is an exact match for DMC 3834 Dark Grape, making it a fully reliable substitute for this deeply saturated purple. Both threads produce a very similar depth and saturation in the dark grape range. The main practical difference is thread behavior: DMC 3834's slightly tighter twist separates more readily for over-one work on high-count fabric, while Anchor 100 lays marginally more smoothly. For shadow grape fills, wisteria depth positions, and dark butterfly wing accents, Anchor 100 can be used with complete confidence.
